Remembering Fathers and Father figures

As we prepare to observe Father’s Day 2021, as a community of faith, let us remember why the early Christians saw the importance of this day.  Father’s Day was set to encourage fathers, and father figures, in a special way, so that they would be enlightened in their role within the family of God.  So often the world forgets about the special role that God calls Fathers to bring forth.

I am so thankful to God for using Christian men in the church to serve as models for instruction and discipline. In this role, many men have mentored their children and children of the community, with and without a fatherly presence in their home. The Word of God reminds us that… “Fathers, do not exasperate your children, instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord” (Ephesians 6:4).

RSNY wishes a very happy Father’s Day to all our members who are fathers as well as the fathers of our members in our churches and mission services. We join in celebrating those who have dedicated their lives to their children and in honoring those fathers we have lost and miss every day. Thank you to fathers everywhere and to all those who serve in this critical role.

May this Father’s Day, June 2021, be a celebration of God’s goodness to all men, celebrating oneness as True Men of God!

Amen!

Prayerfully,

Rev. Dr. Micheal Edwards
