Dear RSNY Church Family and Friends,
Many of our RSNY Churches have started VBS, Vacation Bible School. Vacation Bible School has always been a blast for RSNY! In my visit of two VBS Summer camp programs, I observed, Biblical Drama Stories, fun activities, catchy Christian songs, delicious snacks, and time with friends. In our VBS Programs we find many children attending this rich journey in the Lord Jesus of Christian Education. And, of course, there is the powerful worship and teaching moments in Christian faith in God. Church volunteers and staff have a deep appreciation and passion for sharing the Good News of Jesus. All these things and more are jam-packed into a week of intense Summer Christian enrichment. With all these possibilities, the best thing RSNY can do is pray for everyone who gets to be a part of VBS!
Please Pray for Vacation Bible School (VBS), our Children’s Ministry as a Synod, as God continues to bless the program, the children, volunteers, pastors, consistories, and the community. Prayers for safety, wisdom for teachers, open hearts for children to receive the gospel, and the building of lasting relationships. Additionally, for the program to be a positive influence on families and the wider community in the Gospel of Hope, Faith, Healing, and Peace.
Today, RSNY sponsors funding for over thirty churches to provide a summer of hope for thousands of children. As the RSNY realizes the pressing physical and emotional need for parents, our partner churches enable families to connect with families in their communities, building lasting relationships with neighbors, and a greater opportunity to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with those who might not be members of their churches. Researchers confirm that VBS is one of the most effective evangelism tools that God uses to call children to salvation. The RSNY encourages churches to provide a summer VBS experience for children and adults. They will find that not only are churches blessed with teaching and learning but they will find VBS is an effective tool for discovering future church leaders.
