About this email:
I’m so excited to introduce you to the new Regional Synod of New York, Reformed Church in America weekly email! Every Thursday, we’ll send you a quick glimpse of what’s going on in the Synod this week! The format will stay the same with important notes on what’s going on this week at the top, including a suggested resource from Executive Minister Rev. Amy Nyland (such as a TED Talk or book recommendation). Next will be a story featuring something exciting that’s happening in one of our churches. If you have something you would like to share through the weekly email, please let Amy know about it! Finally, we’ll end with a short quote related to the lectionary theme for the coming Sunday.

A little about me:
My name is Brea Rarick; I’m the new Communications Coordinator for the Regional Synod of New York. I’ll be working with Amy to keepĀ newyorksynod.org up to date and send important emails out regularly. I’m really excited to learn more about the Reformed Church in New York. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been looking at many of your websites as I updated newyorksynod.org, and I’m equally energized by your creative ministries and awed by your beautiful buildings — they are very different from those we have near my home in southeastern Pennsylvania.
I live in the suburbs of Reading, Pennsylvania, about an hour north of Philadelphia. My undergraduate degrees are in Literature, Communications, and Religious Studies, and I also have a Master’s in Communications. I worked in journalism for a few years, but for the past five years I’ve worked for regional denominational offices in various capacities: registrar, search and call assistant, and — my specialty — communications coordinator. I enjoy reading, baking, crafts, and going on cruises, but I’m kept busy by my 4-year-old son, 2-year-old daughter, and my husband’s busy schedule as a full-time pastor and volunteer firefighter.
To get me information, please send emails through newyorksynod@gmail.com. I look forward to learning more about you and your churches.
