The Regional Synod of New York and the Regional Synod of Mid-Atlantics are hosting a special event this September 8-10 with Steven Argue, PhD. The topic is: Engaging and Supporting Emerging Adults in Faith Communities.
Steven Argue, PhD [Michigan State University] is Assistant Professor of Youth, Family, and Culture at Fuller Theological Seminary and the Applied Research Strategist for the Fuller Youth Institute. Steve researches, speaks, and writes on adolescent and emerging adult spirituality. He has served as a pastor on the Lead Team at Mars Hill Bible Church [Grand Rapids, Michigan]; coaches and trains church leaders and volunteers; and has been invested in youth ministry conversation for over 20 years.
The weekend-long event will feature dinner and conversation from 5:00-9:00p on Friday, September 8 at Greenpoint Reformed Church in Brooklyn; a Saturday workshop from 9:00a-3:00p at New Brunswick Theological Seminary; and preaching by Steven Argue Sunday, September 10 at West End Collegiate Church.
Registrations are now being accepted by calling the New York Synod office at 914-332-1311 or by email to newyorksynod@gmail.com. The registration deadline is September 1. The event is free for members of the Regional Synod of New York or the Regional Synod of Mid-Atlantics. Others are welcome, but the cost is $20 per person each day (Friday and Saturday).
