As a Regional Synod, we are reminded of our labor and calling through the words of the Apostle Paul. Wherever we may be in life, our labor provides an opportunity to serve, to witness, and to share the love of God through the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. As the Holy Spirit continues to guide us, we are called to serve with purpose, dedication, and faithfulness.
Our labor is more than simply the work we do; it can become an expression of our Christian calling. Whether in ministry, in our homes, in our workplaces, or in our communities, God gives each of us opportunities to make a difference in the lives of others.
I love working in the ministry of our Lord because it provides me with opportunities to worship, to serve, and to engage in mission. Through our service, we become witnesses to God’s love and instruments of His grace in the world.
As we observe Labor Day, may we give thanks for the work God has entrusted to us and for the people who labor each day to strengthen our families, churches, communities, and society. May this day also remind us that our Christian labor is never without purpose.
Let us continue to labor in love, serve with dedication, and proclaim the Good News of salvation and the power of redemption. Through Christ, every new beginning offers hope, renewal, and the opportunity to walk faithfully into what God has called us to become.
May our labor be rooted in love, guided by the Holy Spirit, and offered for the glory of God.
