The Regional Synod of New York

GIVING THANKS

Greetings Synod,

As we met at our Fall RSNY Session, I felt a spirit of clarity for what Middle Assemblies can possibly become as the Committee suggested a defined standard for our Classes to rethink and resubmit a plan of action for our Special Executive Session to approve “Middle Assemblies.”

We appreciate all delegates who attended for their participation and for the good questions raised to help the RSNY put into place actions taken by the General Synod. A thankful resolved on our gathering, bring us to a place of unity in the oneness of Christ for Kingdom Building.

As we enter the Thanksgiving season, may we find joy in offering thanks to God and spending time with our families and church community. For those with older children, it is a chance to expand traditions and reunite with extended family and friends. Last year, many of our churches hosted gatherings, and some of us traveled to visit loved ones, reminding us of the importance of coming together around God’s table.

As we transition from Thanksgiving to the Christmas Season, we acknowledge the challenges that arise but remain grateful and hopeful. The spirit of Thanksgiving gives us hope even amid uncertainty.

Have a Blessed Thanksgiving Season.

Be well, stay well.

Reformed, Reforming, and Reforming Daily,

Prayerfully,

Rev. Dr. Micheal Edwards, Synod Executive Minister
