Freedom Ride Sankofa journey, taking place September 12-15

Dear friends at Regional Synod of New York,

I am pleased to say that registration is now open for the Freedom Ride Sankofa journey, taking place September 12-15. This trip, inspired by the historic Freedom Rides of the Civil Rights movement, is hosted by the RCA’s African American Black Council (AABC) and led by Dr. Natasha Sistrunk Robinson, a leadership trainer, facilitator, and author of several books, including Voices of Lament and Journey to Freedom, and the host of A Sojourner’s Truthpodcast.

This four-day, three-night experience begins and ends in Atlanta, Georgia, with a trip to Montgomery, Alabama. Site visits include the King Center, the Legacy Museum, and locations integral to the Montgomery Bus Boycott.

Cost: $725 for double occupancy or $875 for single occupancy. This cost includes all food, lodging, and transportation expenses during the trip; however, participants are responsible for their own transportation to/from Atlanta.

**There are a limited number of full and partial scholarships available, based on need and on a first come, first serve basis. Please contact Pete Watts at pwatts@rca.org if you would like to apply for a scholarship.

Please register by August 14.
