In an effort to continue to provide information to the local churches, the Regional Synod of New York is organizing a series of conversational meetings, both in-person and virtual, involving officers and members from Classis. These meetings are designed to provide learning opportunities about expectations and foster a greater understanding of the process of becoming a “Middle Assembly.” Ministers, Elders, Deacons, and church members’ needs can be met through conversation and discussion around the table that enriches coordination and cooperation within your Classis unfolding plan for Middle Assembly.
Benefits of In Person and Virtual Conversations:
- Connect people to provide an understanding of resources and support for developing a Middle Assembly.
- Provide access to resources and support related to developing a Middle Assembly with your Classis leadership.
- Facilitate access to relevant resources and support systems for the development of a Middle Assembly within your Classes.
- Address service gaps and barriers by addressing existing concerns and identifying new resources for church growth.
- Increase awareness of and coordination between Classes and Consistories.

The purpose of the meeting is to learn more about a Middle Assembly and to discuss the possibility of establishing connections with Classes on Middle Assemblies. We will also discuss specific challenges in our Congregations.
As a Consistory leader and Christian Witness partnering with a Middle Assembly, your involvement is essential. If you are unable to attend, please send someone else to represent your Church.
