A Reflection: God Is Doing a New Thing –  Vivian Campbell, Seminarian (RSNY Intern)

The word “community” is commonly known for people sharing something in common. The church community is a place where people gather to share the Gospel for the purpose of learning of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.

As the community, we recognize a connection as one to the body of Christ. The saints’ gathering is to come together to worship God, interact with one another concerning our shared convictions, baptism, and partake in communion.

When the community draws together, there is life and a collective synergy that cannot be duplicate.

The COVID pandemic has birthed new ways for us to be the church and has enlarged our presence in the community. We can engage new technologies, Zoom, YouTube, and different platforms of social mediums. Increased skill sets to learn and understand new techniques. We have imagined new church models.

The disciples witnessed a new thing in their midst. On the third day, Jesus rose from the grave! Indeed, the church community has endured and prevailed. Is God doing  new things? Yes, so let us embrace it!
