Participating in Global Mission increases awareness of God’s work within the RCA Global Mission. Our Regional Synod has significantly supported RCA Mission in Kingdom building. These regional gifts support our Mission team in areas of compassion, justice, reconciliation, disaster relief, and being a presence of God’s light for justice and equality.
Recently, I joined the Marble Collegiate Church in its Mission Learning Exploration to understand Christian partnership with Muslim communities in Oman. This experience provided opportunities for biblical and theological conversations, enabling individuals to raise important questions and collaborate with the Church in Oman. Observing Christian worship in Oman offered a transformative view of global cultures.
I commend RCA Global Mission and Churches for supporting Mission Programs that witness God’s goodness and the formation of a presence of God in worship and cultural application of scriptures. Thanks to the Al Amana Centre’s staff for its Mission focus over the years since the development of Medical and Health Care and Social Justice. Observing children leading worship during the Protestant Worship Service reminded me of my experience in Christian Education ministry and my upbringing within the church. This also highlighted the enduring influence of practicing Christianity as a source of hope throughout human history. These lights of hope extend our love for those in South Africa, encouragement to our Native American brothers and sisters, and support for those in Latin America. I thank God for the ability to bring light to others globally and locally in our growth of Christianity.
As we transition from Regional Synods, I pray that “Middle Assemblies” will continue to engage in Mission shares to support Ministries and Mission Opportunities Locally and Globally.
