The 4th of July…Reflection and Celebration!

The 4th of July is America’s day to Celebrate Her independence…it’s Independence Day!  The day represents freedom, liberty and the birth of a nation, a celebration that goes back to the 18th century and a federal holiday since 1941.

Along with many Americans, my family and I have celebrated the day with family gatherings of barbecues, concerts, and parades.  And let us not forget the fireworks…Macy’s has promised the biggest show ever this year!

As we continue our tradition of celebration this year, let us pause for a moment to look back, reflect, and give thanks for the freedom we enjoy in this country and also to our Creator.

I like these words from the late Ronald W. Reagan, the 40th President of the United States “…Without God, there is a coarsening of the society. And without God, democracy will not and cannot long endure. If we ever forget that we are one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under.”

Happy 4th of July…stay safe,
